What is a 170M High Speed Square Body Fuse?

This square body high-speed low-voltage fuse is designed to open rapidly and is the ideal solution for high-power applications which require a compact design and superior performance. This versatile fuse is a blade type and features a visual indicator and is size 1. The fuse contact surfaces are electroplated with layer of tin that offers an excellent electrical and thermal interface.

What does a Square Body Fuse Do?

A high-speed square body fuse contains a sacrificial link that melts extremely quickly when excessive current passes through it, isolating the overloaded or possibly faulty circuit, protecting valuable electrical equipment, and improving system safety for users. Square body high-speed fuses have a high cycle rate and are designed to minimise peak current let through and arc voltage, a fast-melting time ensures a rapid opening time of an electrical circuit.

Square body fuses have a higher operating temperature than other fuses and once tripped are not resettable and must be replaced.
