Honeywell Eclipse Flame Rod for Industrial Burners

The Eclipse 13312-5 Flame Rod is for use with Eclipse burners that feature flame rod detection. The flame rod detectors sense the flame at varying operating conditions this is to account for varying flame lengths at low and high-fire to minimise possible nuisance faults.

Flame rods operate on the flame rectification principle as burner flames contain ions capable of conducting electrical current. Cleverly designed, flame rods are used on process burner pilot systems to confirm that a flame is present. When a flame rod is energised the current produces a positive charge that attracts the negative ions in a flame. Flame rods will work properly only if you maintain a predetermined ratio of rod surface area to burner grounding area in contact with the flame.
