Originally founded in 1910 in Germany by Fritz Wieland, manufacturing signal devices that were used for measuring current losses along with a range of junction boxes by a team of 10 people. Wieland rose to the fore in 1925 with the creation of the 'Weiland Terminal' whose quality and dependability far exceeded the competition and has been utilised in hundreds of thousands of applications since.

At the forefront of innovation Wieland Electric pioneered the first standardised connector for use with heating systems, the ST18 and later with the creation of the Gesis range of products that reduced installation time considerably with its pluggable technology.
