Circuit Trips
Protecting your electrical circuits
even further are circuit trip devices such as shunt trips which mechanically
trip a circuit breaker when power is applied to its terminals and under-voltage
release shunts which trip the circuit breaker when its voltage drops below a
threshold level. A thermal overload relay is another device used to protect a
circuit when heat from excessive current draw causes it to trip.
