Light Sensors

Light Sensors are photoelectric passive devices that converts available light energy be that visible or infra-red light energy into an electrical signal output that can be used as a trigger event. This signal is generated by measuring the radiant energy that exists in a very narrow range of available light frequencies. Light sensors are more commonly known as photoelectrics or photo sensors as they convert light energy into electricity.

Light sensors monitor the occupancy of a room, whether it is empty or measuring the amount of ambient light entering a room. The light sensors gauge the conditions and alter the lighting as required, whether that’s dimming, brightening or switching them on or off.  Many work spaces rely on a combination of ambient light and electric light provided by overhead lighting.
