Surge Trap, 50 kA 2 Pole (1P + Neutral)

The STPT12 is a 50 kA single phase 1 pole and neutral surge protection unit. A combined Type 1+2/Class I+II device designed for discharging lightning currents and protecting against voltage surges, in accordance with EN/IEC 61643-11.

This surge trap is ideal as the first step of protection in incoming power supply panels and areas with exposure to the atmosphere, where installations are usually provided with an external lightning protection system. Additionally, this robust device has visual and remote end of life indicators, is DIN rail mountable and has mechanically coded cartridges to avoid replacement errors.

A surge protection device discharges excess energy to earth, limiting the peak voltage to a value acceptable for the connected electrical equipment. This durable surge trap helps users avoid potential power cuts, down-time and avoid repair costs to damaged equipment and machinery.
