Series G Motor Operator Mechanism for Circuit Breakers

The Eaton motor operator mechanism enables local and remote ON, OFF and reset switching of a circuit breaker and is mounted on the circuit breaker cover. Motor operators can provide standard load transfer switching, which can be accomplished by using two circuit breakers fitted with motor operators and a mechanical interlock. The motor operator allows the circuit breaker to be opened, closed or reset remotely via a motor connected to a cam drive mechanism. The cam drives a slide mechanism to operate the circuit breaker handle.

Internal limit switches and relays are used to control motor operation to prevent overdriving the circuit breaker handle and overload conditions and a key is provided to manually operate the circuit breaker. A special pull-out locking mechanism enables the padlocking of the circuit breaker handle in the OFF position. The locking device will accept three padlock shackles with a maximum diameter of 6.4 mm each. The cover provides visual status of the circuit breaker: ON, OFF or TRIPPED, and a push-to-trip button allows the manual tripping of the breaker
