During the 1950s Hengstler invested in a plastic injection moulding machine that allowed them to develop a whole host of innovative new ideas, such as the revolutionary counter unit the 'System 400' which was released in 1957 and became a global success. Diversifying their portfolio further they developed a range of analogue products for recording the presence or absence of employees, called ‘Flextimers’ which sold all over Europe, eventually replacing them with electronic versions during the 80s.

At the forefront of innovation, they manufactured the first modular rotary encoders with opto-ASIC technology during 1993 and their encoder portfolio increased further still with a number of acquisitions. Hengstler eventually became part of the FORTIVE Group in 2016, a focused industrial growth company driving innovation in the areas of field instrumentation, transportation, sensing and automation control.

To this day the Hengstler Brand is regarded as one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial control components, including a vast array of digital and analogue counters and rotary encoders that can be found in numerous industrial applications globally.
